On Monday I had a class; took the bus to school without hesitation. I choose to grieve.
I went to the pub every Thursday; shared the communion cup each week. I choose to grieve.
Church is cancelled; the pub is shut; When will I see my family and friends? I choose to grieve.
I couldn’t meet my new nephew; My mum, her first grandchild. I choose to grieve.
The pigs will be slaughtered; the farm is gone; My job abruptly ended. I choose to grieve.
‘At least’ says Facebook; ‘On the plus side’ says Twitter; Tomorrow I will tend to the positives. But today, I choose to grieve.
